Our Rebirth Journey
Walking the shamanic medicine wheel is a path of deep transformation. We open ourselves to the vast mysterious compassion of life which includes love and light and also darkness and pain. Through allowing the dynamic force of life Herself to awaken and move through us, we access deeper and higher realms of our capacity to truly be alive.
Our journey together in Medicine Women is inspired by the Native American, Meso American, Celtic, and also Egyptian Womb Cross medicine wheels that bring us into right relationship with the nature that we live in and with the nature that we are.
We explore the totality of our nature through the multidimensional qualities of the three worlds: Underworld/Below/Source, Middleworld/Center/Relation, and Upperworld/Above/Divinity, and we spiral through the elementals of creation as Fire/Rage/Passion, Water/Grief/Love, Earth/Doubt/Truth, and Air/Fear/Trust. We heal with the polarities of masculine and feminine through the archetypes of Mother Earth and Father Sky as the anchors that hold us as we Rebirth.

Opening the Gates of the Worlds

As we prepare to begin our journey spiraling through the wheel, we open into the multi-dimensional nature of all life. Just as our Earth is a sphere, a womb, our journey will descend and ascend into deeper depths and higher heights, as we integrate everything here at the center. We will invite the many layers of our experience and of existence herself into the space for the entirety of our week to add richness, truth, wholeness, totality to our discoveries.
First Gateway: Womb of Mother
Below ~ Mother Earth ~ The Deep Feminine ~ Darkness ~ Body ~ Sensuality ~ Sustenance ~ Womb
We begin where all life begins, in the womb of Mother, deep in the belly of the primordial feminine. Here we will root into our physical bodies, our sensual nature, and begin to slowly rebuild, reclaim, retrieve, or simply reinforce our direct connection with the sustenance of Source. We meet with the face of Mother Goddess and explore our relationship with our motherline, and the women in our world. We become grounded and anchored through our connection with the unconditional love of the universal Mother and the abundance that is our birthright.
Second Gateway: Fires of Transformation
South ~ Fire ~ Summer ~ Sexual Awakening ~ Karma ~ Transmutation ~ Snake ~ DNA
Our medicine wheel journey officially begins in the south of the wheel as we enter the initiation of the fire, the realm of transformation, of burning our karma into the sacred flame of truth and revealing its hidden gold. We will summon the shamanic animal guide of snake, as a messenger of our ability to shed our skins and reawaken our pure life force through our sexuality and the medicine and wounds that hide in our holiest most sacred space. We meet the emotions of anger, rage, passion, desire, and channel this energy for our higher purpose.
Third Gateway: Waters of Release
West ~ Water ~ Autumn ~ Letting Go ~ Grief ~ Softness ~ Strength ~ Jaguar ~ Blood
We turn now to the west of the wheel, and we dive into our sacred waters, the cooling, deepening, refining power of both softness and ultimate strength. Water guides us into the inner strength that emerges when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable with ourselves. Here with the support of jaguar medicine, we release the weight we have been carrying, we grieve the losses we have kept bottled inside, we free the dams that have kept our juicy nectar from flowing into the rushing rivers that run across our planet and within our fiercely tender feminine souls. We become the sacred guardians of our own holy wells of water, our wombs.
Fourth Gateway: Earth of Wisening
North ~ Earth ~ Winter ~ Trust ~ Mortality ~ Truth ~ Hummingbird ~ Death
Turning to the north of the wheel, we settle down into earth, into the rocks of the planet and the bones in our bodies that connect us with the ancients across space and time. We ask our ancestors for guidance in traversing this threshold between life and death, we meet with our fears of the unknown, we learn to summon faith and trust in what we have yet to see, and we call upon the hummingbird for her lightness of spirit that can show us what is yet to come on the other side. We become midwives for ourselves and in turn for others, through leaning into the dark void and trusting in the reappearance of the light.
Fifth Gateway: Sky of Father
Above ~ Father Sky ~ The Divine Masculine ~ Light ~ Spirit ~ Consciousness ~ Higher Wisdom ~ Immortality
Through the portal of the earth at the north of the wheel, we rise up into new heights, to the cosmic awakening where we are met with the pure consciousness of Father Sky. We see things from a new view, a new perspective, with the clear vision of God. Just as we began through rooting into the primordial feminine and the Mother Goddess, we now explore the other polarity by soaring up into the heavens and embracing the Father God. We open to receive the Divine Masculine as a healing for our father lines and for the men in our world. We trust the true masculine as the loving presence that is always here to support, uplift, and honor us.
Sixth Gateway: Air of Rebirth
East ~ Air ~ Spring ~ Innocence ~ Inspiration ~ Rebirth ~ Eagle ~ Seed
Through the portal of death into the infinite cosmic expanse, we return to the wheel for our final gateway at the direction of the east with the element of air. Just as we take our first breath of life, here at the east we open to the medicine of air to breathe us into a new beginning. We call in the innocence of our childlike selves, trusting life and love again on the other side of death. Deeper and wiser we ask for the ultimate guidance of the visionary eagle totem, to show us a new way in alignment with our souls. We dream a new world into being beginning within ourselves.
