The most ancient prophecies began with menstruating women.
Thousands of years ago, from all across the Mediterranean, emperors, kings, and pilgrims traveled to sit at the feet of the woman in red perched upon her golden throne.
This woman, known as The Oracle or Pythia, predicted the outcomes of wars, the falls of civilizations, and the acts of retribution to restore abundance in the world.
Entrusted as the High Priestess of the God Apollo, Pythia was one of the most exalted women in ancient times, whose voice echoed across the ages, and remains one of the most fascinating mysteries in Greek history today.
But who was she really?
Before the Temple of Apollo was erected in honor of the God of Light, the land of Delphi was inhabited by Goddess Cults who worshipped one deity they called… Gaia.
Far up in the mountains over Delphi, in a large cave known as the Womb of Gaia, the original Oracle once gave her prophecies. This Oracle was protected by a Dragon called Python, said to be the original child of Gaia.
Python was the primordial power of the wild feminine.
When Apollo rose out of the sea at Itea and ascended to the mountains of Delphi, his quest was to slay Python, and to build his temples in the Dragon’s place.
Pythia, a name derived from Python, was the last remaining voice of the Dragons of the land. Like many women who came before her, she channeled from the origin place where all dragons abide…
The womb.
Pythia was not just one woman. She was thousands of women across thousands of years who still carried her innate feminine power to receive the voice of her own womb.
Hidden in the nature that holds the world famous temples of Delphi, a land whose etymology means womb, remains this memory…
