And nowhere does it show up quite like in our sexuality. The place we’ve learned to vacate, demonize, distrust, and dissociate from, while everyone else gets access to us.

This is because…

thousands of years ago the female body was colonized for the masculine agenda.

Just like land, the Erotic Feminine was conquered, extracted, and harvested rather than revered as the Source of our very existence.

In turn, our mothers and their mothers and their mother’s mothers learned that the power of creation belongs to the family, government, and religion instead of to themselves.

That’s why, deep down, even if they really don’t want to admit it…

Most women still judge their beauty against how men respond to them.

Experience their arousal mostly when someone else wants them.

Feel most valuable when the highest bidder chooses them.

From the time we’re girls we learn that as long as we’re pretty enough, sexy enough, pleasing enough, or self sacrificing enough, we will be enough to inspire the savior to come and rescue us from our own suffering (aka our POWER).

And after countless generations of this violation, exile, and insidious abuse, the Sacred Erotic Feminine in our own bodies learned to distrust us as Her steward and guardian, while we learned to outsource the greatest Love in existence.

Our first week together brings us to the temple gates of our inner Aphrodite. With an approach of reverence, we invite our deeper feminine wisdom to reveal Herself in sacred timing.

Preparing for the journey to come, we open into the magical mythology of Aphrodite in ancient Greek herstory, set our intentions for what we are calling in, create altars that anchor our visions in our daily space, connect with one another in our shared group community, and devote ourselves to two simple sensual practices each day.

At the end of the first week we gather for our Opening Ceremony on Zoom, to officially open the temple gates together, give voice to our intentions, and weave the powerful energy of Aphrodite to blossom through synchronicity in our lives and world.

In our second week, we cross the threshold into the temple of ourselves, and enter the first temple doorway of Aphrodite, discovering the power of our True Beauty.

True beauty is so much more than any cultural ideals and standards of a woman’s “desirability” in the eyes of patriarchy. Beauty is the direct experience of our nature from within. Beauty is what we feel when we listen to the life inside of ourselves. Beauty is our nature. We are nature. We are beauty.

Aphrodite’s beauty is what we feel within ourselves when we return in love with our own being, just as we are. As we create new imprints of reverence for this inherently beautiful body, our nature begins to trust us again.

Worthiness, true worthiness, is not even something that we claim. It is what we are. And it is what we re-member when we re-belong ourselves to the fullness of what we feel, what we crave, what we yearn for, and what moves the tides of our own oceans from within.

There are so many wounded beliefs we have inherited about what it means to be a woman.

Until recently, a woman who celebrated her sensuality was shamed as a “whore” which is in fact derived from the ancient word “hor” which meant “womb,” the most sacred and powerful organ in our body that incarnates, gestates, and births a human life.

Why have women forgotten?

WHY do so many powerful, beautiful, deep women struggle to totally-completely-devotionally trust, love, and honor the Goddess in their own female bodies?

And instead, base their right to exist, occupy space, and hold value in the world, on how closely they align with inhumanely unrealistic impossible-to-fit-into beauty, body, sexuality, and femininity standards?

Why do even women who are extremely intelligent, self proclaimed feminists, and not at all newbies on the healing journey, still silently secretly orient their worth to what the world wants from them?

To various degrees, we’ve all been taught to self abandon in patriarchal culture.

It’s deep, ancient, collective, and runs through the lineage. It’s woven into every aspect of our society. It’s been profoundly embedded deep in the female psyche and sexuality.

That’s because…

For thousands of years the female body has been colonized for the masculine agenda. Just like land, the EROTIC FEMININE has been conquered, extracted, and harvested, rather than revered as the source of our very existence.

In turn, our mothers and their mothers and their mother’s mothers learned that the power of creation belongs to the family, government, and religion instead of to themselves.

As daughters of patriarchy… deep down… even if we really don’t want to admit it…

We judge our beauty against how men respond to us.

We experience our arousal only when someone else wants us.

We feel valuable when the highest bidder chooses us.

From the time we’re girls we learn that as long as we’re pretty enough, beautiful enough, sexy enough, or self sacrificing enough, we will be enough to inspire the savior to come and rescue us from our own suffering (aka our POWER).

We learn to be the objects of another’s desire, instead of the subjects of our own.

But the truth is…

There’s a power inside of you that no one can give you and no one can take away. 

Patriarchy knew this, and it’s why it did everything to try to separate you from the Wild Feminine.

I’m going to be bold here and say…

The only way to truly reclaim your Divine Feminine Nature, is by directly dismantling this toxic destructive deeply ancient conditioning within your female body, and reawakening the Goddess who was long ago buried there. 

Not just in your mentality or your psyche.

Not just reading feminist ideology.

Not just talking about smashing the patriarchy.

Not just as conceptual or energetic spirituality.

Way, way, way deeper than that.
