On Vulnerability
What does it mean to be vulnerable?
Vulnerability may appear to be our willingness to outwardly share our inner process with others, but this can in fact be its own mask.
True vulnerability arises from our willingness to be vulnerable with ourselves. To see ourselves in all of our nakedness and our wounds without making it anyone else’s responsibility. Without needing to share it to be validated in it.
Vulnerability is the felt sense of tenderness when you walk forward into your fears without defenses because you’ve established trust and safety with yourself first.
Vulnerability is being humble. Saying I’m sorry and meaning it. Forgiving without expecting anything back in return. Loving even when you don’t get love back.
That’s the scary stuff.
That’s the tender stuff.
That’s the vulnerable stuff.
